Manual Handling Training is an awareness course designed to teach learners how to identify
hazardous manual handling activities in the workplace and to assess the risk they present to the
employee. Our course takes a preventative approach to managing manual handling in the
workplace.
Manual handling, or to be accurate, incorrect manual handling, is one of the most common causes of
injury at work, it is estimated that one-third of workplace accidents that result in lost time is a direct
result of manual handling activities. To try and combat manual handling problems, the Manual
Handling Operations Regulations were introduced. These are based on EEC Directives in both UK and
Ireland.
